Course Syllabus

Dear Parent or Guardian:

        Welcome to 8^th grade Math! My name is Hernan Nino and I will be your child’s math teacher. I am in my 7^th year teaching at Monroe Middle School. I graduated from Universidad Distrital in Bogota, Colombia, my home Country,  with a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Education and a Specialization in Math Education 

8^th Grade Math: Syllabus

Grade Scale: A 100-90       B 89-80           C 79-70           D 69-60           F Below 60

Assignments: Homework-10% given each week

                       Formative-45%   Classwork, Compass Learning, Notebook

                       Summative-45% Tests and Open Note Quizzes

Topics: Expressions and Equations, Functions, Geometry, Statistics and Probability

Supplies: 2 notebooks (cow or spiral), pencils, folder or binder

                Optional: TI 83 or higher calculator, graph paper, tissues

Tutoring: To be determined at a later date.
