                           FOODS I   #7045   MS. GEER   MONROE HIGH SCHOOL   RM 138

COURSE OBJECTIVE: TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN NUTRITION, CONSUMERISM, SANITATION, ETIQUETTE AND FOOD PREPARATION.  TO SCORE ATA PROFICIENT LEVEL ON THE END-OF-COURSE ASSESSMENT.

MS. GEER’S CLASSROOM RULES:

    1. ALL UCPS POLICIES, MHS RULES AND MS. GEER’S CLASSROOM RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
    2. BE IN YOUR SEAT WHEN THE TARDY BELL RINGS.  NO ROAMING. NO EXCUSES!
    3. COME TO CLASS PREPARED WITH SUPPLIES AND READY TO LEARN. NO EXCUSES!
    4. RUN ALL ERRANDS AND USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE COMING TO CLASS! DO NOT ASK TO LEAVE CLASS TO USE THE RESTROOM!
    5. NO FOOD OR DRINK (EXCEPT WATER) ALLOWED IN CLASS. NO EXCEPTIONS!
    6. BE ON TIME!  THE TARDY POLICY WILL BE INFORCED. NO EXCEPTIONS!
    7. DO NOT PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN AND/OR SLEEP IN CLASS. NOT ALLOWED!
    8. WRITE YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME ON ALL YOUR CLASSWORK. NO EXCUSES!
    9. TREAT YOUR CLASSMATES, MS. GEER AND YOURSELF WITH RESPECT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
    10. NO CELL PHONES, IPODS, HEADPHONES, ETC. ALLOWED IN CLASS. NO EXCEPTIONS. USING A CELL PHONE AND TEXTING IS PROHIBITED. NO EXCUSES!

 GRADING SCALE FOR FOODS I CLASS:  ATTITUDE & EFFORT                      10%

                                                                    LABORATORY ACTIVITIES                    30%

                                                                    QUIZZES/JOURNALS                             30%

 GRADED PAPERS:  10 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FOR EACH SCHOOL DAY THAT A GRADED CLASSWORK/HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT IS LATE BEING TURNED IN.  

NO EXCEPTIONS! 

FOODS I IS NOT A COOKING (AND EATING!) CLASS!  FOOD PREPARATION IS A SMALL PORTION OF THE CURRICULUM.
