Course Objectives

1.0      Understand the effects of the family as a system for individuals and society.

2.0      Understand conditions that influence prenatal development.

3.0      Understand physical development from birth to age 5.

4.0      Understand how children develop.

5.0      Understand cognitive development from birth to age 5.

6.0       Understand emotional and social development from birth to age 5.

Expectations

• Enter the classroom quietly and begin your Do Now.
• Attend class at each meeting time unless you are sick or on a school trip.
• Participate in all classroom discussions and activities.
• Submit all assignments when due. You will have five days from the available date to submit assignments. (late assignments will not be accepted unless you are absent.)
• Follow all school and classroom policies, rules and procedures.
• Respect the property and personal space of others (this includes the teacher)
• All personal grooming should be done at home or in the restroom.
• Come to class prepared daily.

Classroom Rules

Students are to keep all bookbags, phones, purses, EarPods in their assigned lockers during class. Students will not be allowed to return to their lockers until the end of class.

Use appropriate  language (clean) at all times.

No horseplaying.

No eating or drinks inside the classroom. 

No chewing gum.

No writing on the tables or classroom equipment, books, etc.

Your feet must remain on the floor at ALL times.

Course materials

• 1” three ring binder designated for this class
• Loose leaf notebook paper
• Pens (black or blue only)
• Pencils
• 10 index dividers
• 25 plus sheet protectors

Paper Towels

Clorox and or Lysol Wipes (These are School Board Approved Brands)

Purell Personals advanced hand sanitizer (sold at Target and on Amazon)

Feminine Hygiene items in case of an emergency

Classwork: 25%

Projects: 25%

Tests/Quizzes: 25%

Final Exam: 25% of Grade

 

A= 100-90

B= 89-80

C= 79-70

D= 69-60

F= 59-0
