Course Description:In this course, students evaluate the concepts of going into business for themselves and working for or operating a small business. They become acquainted with channel management, pricing, product/service management, and promotion. Emphasis is on the exploration of feasible ideas of products/services, research procedures, business financing, marketing strategies, and access to resources for starting a small business. Students will be introduced to the Lean Canvas Business Model (LCBM) throughout the course. English language arts and social studies are reinforced.

*Chromebooks will be used daily. It is imperative that you have your device and charger each class.

GradesGrades will be based on the following weighted system:Unit Tests – 30%Quizzes – 15%
Classwork/Participation – 25%Projects – 30%
The semester is divided into three 6-week grading periods each making up 25% of the final grade. The Final Exam will be a Teacher-Made Exam and will make up the other 25% of the final grade.
Student’s may be exempted from the Final Exam if they have an “A” average in the class and no more than two unexcused absences in a class or they have a “B” average in the class and no more than one unexcused absence in the class.

Late WorkAll assignments will have a required submission due date and will be posted in Canvas. Late assignments, if accepted, will be graded with penalty. Emergency situations will be scored at my discretion. Communication regarding late work is imperative.
