In 2009, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in middle school education in language arts and math and a second bachelor’s degree in English. I started my teaching career in CMS teaching 8^th grade language arts.  I won the UNCC Beginning Teacher’s Award my third year teaching.  I was also a presenter at the North Carolina Middle School Conference where I presented on engaging students in reading and writing. In 2017, I was given the opportunity to join the amazing Weddington community as an 8^th grade math teacher! It is no surprise my favorite thing to teach is the strategies students need to be successful at solving word problems!  I have a true passion for ensuring students are engaged and excited about learning math! I believe every student can be good at math. Every year, I promise my students I will strive to be the teacher I would want my own children to have.
