Hi there! My name is Ms. Scott and I will be your English I teacher for the 2020-2021 school year at Weddington Middle School! Though our idea of what school looks like will be vastly different this go around, I am still so excited to take on this journey with all of you! I graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education English. Four years later, I earned my Master's Degree in K-12 Literacy from Queen's University of Charlotte. I hold certifications from College Board and Cambridge University to teach advanced English classes and in order to continue to grow in my profession, I will be pursuing my National Board Certification this school year. This is my sixth year teaching in the Charlotte area and my third year as a Weddington Middle School Wildcat!

To begin the school year, all WMS teachers are spotlighting their favorite place! My happy place is Long Beach Island, New Jersey! I grew up in New Jersey and my family still lives in LBI, so every summer I am fortunate to spend a month right on the water! When in LBI, you can find me going on 20 mile bike rides around the island, going to the beach, reading novels while catching some sun, blasting Bruce Springsteen music, beating all of my family members in corn hole, and indulging in pizza and deli sandwiches!
Here's my favorite view in LBI, and if you look closely enough, you'll be able to see my family's dog, Slider!
