General Information

Description

"The purpose of Pre-Calculus is to build upon the study of algebra, functions, and trigonometry experienced in previous high school mathematics courses.  This course will build on students' algebraic skills and understanding of functions and real world phenomena  and to deepen understanding of the functions in the course.  This course is designed for students pursing careers in STEM-related fields.  Students will be prepared for Calculus, AP Calculus and a entry-level college course." (NCSCOS)

Required Materials

  • Paper – to be able to show work. Can be loose leaf or spiral notebook.
  • Writing utensil – students are to use a pencil for any assignment, but can use a pen to take their own notes.
  • Calculator – desmos.com/TI 84-graphing calculators will be the preferred methods because they both have a scientific and graphing component.  Desmos is also embedded in the program that the NCFE uses. If you have your own handheld or graphing calculator you are more than welcome to use it.
