Course Description:

Students will investigate biological systems at the molecular, cellular, and macrobiological level. Throughout the semester there will be numerous labs and inquiry activities to supplement instruction and to gain a better understanding of the content (these will be modified to ensure the COVID-19 guidelines are maintained), so it is mandatory that you fill out the lab safety contract.  If this is not done, you will not be able to participate in the labs.  Reading assignments will be assigned on a regular basis in this class.

Tutoring

By appointment Monday - Friday 7:40AM or 3PM

Late Work

All assignments are due the day they are assigned by 11:59PM (I leave it open until 11:59Pm to account for any extended time modifications).

1 day late = 50% maximum grade

More than one day late = no credit

Participation Grade

Each week you will get a participation grade from assignments completed in class.  For these assignments you will receive a checkmark when you turn it in.  The next day I will post a key for you to grade your work.  Because a key is posted, if you do not turn in your assignment before the key posting you will not receive credit.

If you turn in all assignments you get a 100% participation grade, if you miss one you get  a 75%, if you miss 2 you get a 50%,  if you miss 3 you get a 25%, if you miss all 4 you will get a 0%.

Attendance

Teams is not always reliable, so I take attendance via canvas.  You must log in before 3PM each day to be counted present.  If you do not log in by that time, you are counted absent.
