 Art I Syllabus

 

The UCPS program of studies describes this course and the foundation level for art study throughout high school.  Students will have experience in creating two dimensional and three dimensional.  This course emphasizes the principles of design, color theory, vocabulary, art history and the rules of composition.  

Materials needed

Sketchbook- mandatory- we will use a sketchbook to do warm ups everyday.  You need to have your sketchbook with you every day of class.

Drawing pencils

Drawing pens (gel pens)

Markers/sharpies

Colored pencils

Set of paint brushes

Water color paints 

 

Attendance

Attendance will be taken everyday, even on your virtual days.  In order to be marked present you must DO ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING

Grading

Work grade- 50%- class participation and in class work grade.  20 points per day.  If you do not work or participate you lose 20 points.  There will be a work grade for each week. 

Projects50% projects include major projects, class activities, sketchbooks, warm ups

If you work hard and be nice you will do very well in this class!!  I expect students to do their work, I expect the best out of each student I have. I respect you, I care about you and I want you to be successful.  A calm, respectful environment is important for creating art.
