Honors World History

Welcome!  This is a very fast paced course so it is imperative that you keep up with your assignments and attend class daily.

SUPPLIES: You will need to purchase a 3-ring binder (1½ to 2 inches will be great.)

You will need to bring your binder, notebook paper, pen, highlighter, and computer to class daily.

You will be assigned a textbook to leave at home and you will have access to an online text.

CURRICULUM: Above you will find links to a day by day outline for the each 6 weeks. Please realize that this is a live document and subject to minor changes day by day. 

YOU are responsible for referring to this outline DAILY and keeping up with your assignments.

GRADING: You will be graded in THREE categories.  

Homework will be assigned and is due on the date announced. 

Homework counts as 25% of the 6 Weeks Grade. 

Sometimes classwork will need to be finished for homework. 

HW assignments are worth 10 - 100 points.

Late homework may be accepted, but there will be a sizeable deduction in points.

Daily Quizzes will be given. Most daily quizzes will be 10 points each.

Quizzes count as 35% of the 6 Weeks Grade.

One quiz grade will be dropped each 6 weeks.

If you only miss one quiz each 6 weeks, you will NOT need to make it up. If you miss more than one quiz in a 6 weeks, it is YOUR responsibility to make it up. This can be done by seeing me for an alternate assignment. You will be given 3 days to complete this assignment and your grade on the assignment will replace the quiz grade you missed. 

A BIG Unit Quiz will be given at the end of each unit. It will be mainly short answers and will count as 100 points. BIG Unit Quizzes cannot be dropped and must be made up if missed. 

A  comprehensive Six Weeks Test will be given at the end of each 6 Weeks and it will be the ONLY test given for the 6 weeks. The Six Weeks Test will count as 40% of the 6 Weeks Grade.  

HONOR CODE: My expectation is that all work submitted is a reflection of the individual student’s efforts. At NO time should a student copy another student’s work. This rule stands for homework, notebook assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests. Students found cheating will receive a ZERO on the assignment, parents will be notified, and the student will be given an office referral.
