Welcome to Honors Biomedical Technology II.  We will investigate such varied topics as bioethics, human genetic variation, neurobiology, sleep and biological rhythms.

Class Expectations:
All students will be on time for class.

Students will sit in their assigned seat.

Students will follow directions and refrain from talking during instruction.

NO electronics (phones, laptops, etc.) will be used unless specifically instructed to do so.

Everyone will be respectful of each other.

Class Procedure:

Students are expected to take notes during instruction.  All notes will be taken by hand.

All students are required to store their phones in a phone holder during class.  There is no exception to this.

Water fountain and restroom visits are not restricted unless abused.  All students leaving the classroom are required to sign out.

Period usually is planned to allow time for students to begin any homework assignment.  Students are advised to use this time wisely.

Absences:

Students are expected to ask for missed work upon the return to class.  A student who misses a test will make up the test at the NEXT Warrior Block session. Students who are absent on the review day preceding the test but returning on test day are expected to test with the class.  Make up work for students with multiple consecutive absences will be handled on an individual basis.  All missed tests/quizzes will be entered into PowerSchool as a “0” until made up.

Tutoring:

Warrior Block will give students an opportunity for tutoring during the school day.  Additionally I am available other times by appointment.

Grading:

Tests=45%, Quizzes, Complex Assignments=30%, Daily work=25%

I do NOT accept late work.  On special occasions I may give extra time to complete/turn in an assignment, but that is solely upon my discretion.

I DO offer extra credit throughout the grading periods.  Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
