Materials:

  1. Single Subject Spiral notebook
  2. Three ring binder with a pack of notebook paper.
  3. Pencils, pens- blue/black ink, highlighters

Course Description: This course is designed to educate students in the Occupational Course of Study version of American History (1 and 2), according to state guidelines, and provide them with the resources each student needs to be successful in the general curriculum. 

Goals and Objectives: The students will have a working knowledge of basic academic skills,  be able to utilize and perform assignments according to their specific abilities with IEP modifications.

Daily Class Structure for American History 1 and 2

  1. Enter class ready to work and learn
  2. Bellringer activity for first 5 minutes (relevant to lesson-review)
  3. Group activity - active learning with teacher lead
  4. Pair/individual work for more specific learning
  5. Project work/presentations
  6. Review of the days assignment/ prep for next day

Grading: Performance sheet

A= 90-100   B=80-89   C=70-79   D=60-69   F=59 and under

Grade Breakdown for the Semester                                                                                   Comprehension Tests -  30%                     Class Projects/Homework  – 20%                Classwork/Participation - 30%                   Notebook/Portfolio – 20%

Participation:  You will receive a  CLASS PARTICIPATION GRADE.  Class participation is a vital component of this course.  You must be active in your role  to the best of your ability.    ________________________________________________________________
