Honors Health Science I is a honors level course on human anatomy, physiology and disease processes.  You can expect a test every 5-7 class periods.  Tests are a combination of multiple choice, labeling, fill-in, and short answer.  Tests usually include extra credit questions.  Testing is done online through SchoolNet.

Honors Health Science I has a state-mandated final exam.

You will be expected to take notes in class by hand.  Laptops may be used for following along only.  The primary mode of instruction is lecture with slides.  You will be asked to label various diagrams.  Colored pencils are needed for diagrams.

Classwork/Homework is usually used to introduce a new system, diagrams and study guides.  Homework is typically graded on completion.

All work is expected to be turned in on time.  Late work will not be accepted.  Make-up tests will only be given to students who are absent on test days. Students will have 5 class days to make up tests.

Cell phones will be placed in an assigned pocket at the beginning of class. NO EXCEPTIONS!

I am available to work with students individually or as a small group either during Warrior Block or by appointment. Students who feel they would benefit from tutoring or review should see me.  Parents may leave me a message at the school office.  I can also be reached by e-mail at janet.brower@ucps.k12.nc.us.
