Course Syllabus

Course Description: In this course, students develop an understanding of the processes involved from the creation to the consumption of products/services. Students develop an understanding and skills in the areas of distribution, marketing information management, market planning, pricing, product/service management, promotion, and selling. Students develop an understanding of marketing functions applications and impact on business operations. Mathematics and social studies are reinforced.

 

Course Objectives

  • TLW define terms and identify concepts and practices related to marketing.
  • TLW apply and demonstrate product knowledge.
  • TLW apply and demonstrate pricing knowledge.
  • TLW apply and demonstrate promotional knowledge.

 

Canvas and Assignments: We use Canvas for EVERYTHING!!Assignments are listed in Canvas by date –if you miss school –yes, you need to make it up.

 

Grading Scale: 

Grades will be determined using a point system.  Letter grades will be assigned according to the following scale.

 

A = 90 – 100%

B = 80 – 89%

C= 70 – 79%

D= 60 – 69%

F = 59% and below

 

Absences & Make-up Work:

Students are responsible for all missed work.  It is the student’s responsibility to let me know that you are missing work; the easiest solution is to check the Canvas.

 

Tardy

If you are not in the seat BEFORE the bell rings, you are considered tardy and will have to deal with the consequences. 

 

Consequences:

Consequences for failing to observe the rules will be dealt with on a situational basis and may include:

 

  1. Verbal warning
  2. Detention and/or call to parents
  3. Student referral to the office

 

Cheating:

There will be a zero tolerance for cheating within this classroom.  If a student is caught cheating, an automatic zero will be given for the assignment/exam.  Notification will also be sent to parents, letting them know about the situation.

 

Food and Drink:

 Please do not bring food, candy, or drinks to class.

 

Phone/Electronic Device Policy:

Listening to music, with ear buds, while you work is fine. You cannot use ear buds during lectures or while instructions are given.  Remove them completely from your ears. No one else should be able to hear your music. Cell Phones are put away—music is the exception.

 

 

Class Materials:

Students are responsible for bringing all necessary supplies to class everyday.  Included would be: Chromebook and charger, notebook, any assigned work, writing utensil, and paper.”

 

Bathroom Passes

You are only issued 2 bathroom passes per 6 weeks so use them wisely. I strongly recommend that you use the restroom before coming to class.
