Welcome to 6th grade Social Studies!
Here is a little about me:
I graduated from Appalachian State University (go 'neers!) and my entire classroom bleeds black & yellow. I grew up here, attending Weddington Middle and High School, and now live in the city of Charlotte. I got married in October and am so excited to finally be Mrs. Walton! I have two dogs, named Calvin and Theo, who are the cutest puppies, and who my students will learn a lot about!
What to Expect:
My tutoring hours: Friday's 8:00-8:30 am
Parents, at the beginning of the year, all teachers send home a pamphlet with everything you need for your 6th grader. Everything in that pamphlet applies throughout the entire year.
For class, students will need a spiral notebook, a composition book, and a folder. They will also need mechanical pencils or blue/black pens.
Classwork- 30%, Homework- 10%, Quizzes- 30%, Tests/Projects- 30%
No Names on Papers- Student will receive a 0 as a grade.
Cheating on a quiz/test will result in a 0 as a grade.
If any talking takes place during tests or quizzes, students talking will receive a 0 on the test or quiz.
Everyday that an assignment is late, that will be 10 points off each day until it is turned in.
I hope to build a relationship with both you as parents as well as your student! I am looking forward to an exciting semester with all of you! Let's explore the world!
