Welcome to 6th Grade Science!

Supplies for Success:

  • pencils (always have at least 2, sharpened and ready to go)
  • 5 subject notebook - SPIRAL works best
  • pocket folder (if your notebook doesn’t have a pocket)
  • glue stick  (and a back-up in your locker)
  • colored pencils (or crayons)
  • earbuds (keep them in your pencil pouch)
  • *** CHARGED laptops are and DAILY requirement for science class. Please charge your computer EVERY night. ***

Student Responsibilities:

  1. Respect classmates, teacher(s), and science materials as well as our classroom expectations.
  2. Come to class on time, prepared with supplies, a positive attitude, AND ready to learn.
  3. Maintain your science notebook according to teacher instructions. (Notebooks are graded.)
  4. Complete classwork* and homework as assigned AND on time.
  5. Check the assignment calendar and Google Classroom DAILY.
  6. Study for tests and quizzes outside of class.
  7. Keep track of your progress by checking PowerSchool, at least weekly, for grade information.

*Classwork that is not completed in class is to be completed for homework and is due the following day.

Parent Responsibilities:

  1. Check PowerSchool, at least weekly, to monitor your child’s progress in science.
  2. Bookmark teacher website for easy reference.
  3. Notify teacher, via email, about extended absences. (more than 2 days)
  4. Check your child’s notebook* for our current lessons and topic.

*Resources and directions for most assignments will be posted in CANVAS.

Missing Assignments:

Missing assignments will be accepted, for decreased credit, BEFORE the unit test and/or final project.

Absent?

It is your responsibility to find out what you have missed when you are not in class.
