Course Description:
This is a course for the mathematically gifted student capable of college-level work. The course outline reflects the content currently recommended by the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB). Students enrolled in the course are expected to take the AP Calculus Exam in the spring.
AP Calculus AB is a course designed to develop a student’s conceptual understanding of calculus. Students will use their reasoning to solve specific applications through the use of appropriate technology including the use of graphing calculators. Applications will be presented analytically, numerically, graphically, and verbally and students are expected to communicate their solutions and justifications verbally and in written form. Special attention is given to helping students use correct justification of answers using specific theorems and correct units as part of their analysis. Students are preparing for the AP Calculus AB exam in May.
