Course Description

The Math 1 curriculum will follow the Common Core Standards: Algebraic Modeling; Linear Equations and Inequalities; Systems of Equations and Inequalities; Linear and Exponential Functions; Interpret Functions and Function Notation; Quadratic Functions and Data Analysis.

Course Requirements

     Major tests will be announced; however some quizzes may

                                        not be announced to ensure that you are maintaining good study     

                                       habits.

 

                                             Homework is an important part of learning mathematics and will

                                             be assigned daily.  Every problem must be attempted and

                                            adequate  work must be shown to receive 100.

 

                                            Make-Up Work is your responsibility! It is your responsibility to

                                           get classwork/homework, notes, and makeup all test/quizzes due    

                                           to absences.

Tutoring

                                           Tutoring available Monday  and Wednesday  from 3:00 – 4:00, please

                                           advise if you will be attending; also tutoring available other days by   

                                           appointments. 

                                           Mrs. McTamney will tutor mornings Monday- Friday at 7:40 - 7:55

 

                                                                                  Grading Policy

                                                           Formal Assessments: (Test 50%; Quiz 30%)

                                                           Informal Assessments: (HW, CW, Effort, Participation) 20%

                                                          *Exam will count 25% of the course grade
