In 2009, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in middle school education in language arts and math and a second bachelor’s degree in English. I started my teaching career in CMS teaching 8th grade language arts. I won the UNCC Beginning Teacher’s Award my third year teaching. I was also a presenter at the North Carolina Middle School Conference where I presented on engaging students in reading and writing. In 2017, I was given the opportunity to join the amazing Weddington community as an 8th grade math teacher! It is no surprise my favorite thing to teach is the strategies students need to be successful at solving word problems! I have a true passion for ensuring students are engaged and excited about learning math! I believe every student can be good at math. Every year, I promise my students I will strive to be the teacher I would want my own children to have. |
