Focus

During the semester course, students will: 

  • Review computer basics and the HTML & CSS languages.
  • Learn and apply coding knowledge to program LED circuit boards.
  • Design and code a program in App Lab using Code.org.
  • Begin exploring the Python coding language.

Expectations

    1. Be on time!  3 tardies to my class = office referral.
    2. Be ready!  Come in, read the board for instructions, & get started.
  • Rolling chairs are to stay in current location (unless teacher authorizes movement).
  • Complete work in class and turn in.
  • Do great work!  This includes proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling (Your computer will help you).
  • Raise hand for computer help.
  • No talking when teacher is teaching (We’ll cover this with our Social Contract).
  • No food and No cell phones.
  • No smelly stuff! (eg: lotions, perfume, etc)  Respect those with asthma (like me)
  • Clean up your area and push in your chair before leaving.

 

Absences - Students are responsible for making up any work if absent.  Parents or students are welcome to email me OR check Canvas for assignments.  If teacher is absent, assignment will be in Canvas.

 

Assignments – All assignments are completed in class.  Any work not completed during class is expected to be completed for homework.

 

Grading

50% - Weekly Participation Grade including teamwork activities

30% - Projects, Unit Assessments & Quizzes 

20% - Classwork
