Grading

Grading is based on a point system.  Students can earn up to twenty points per class day.

(Whether on-line, on-demand, or face-to face class session)

5 points -  Filling out and submitting daily attendance form

5 points -  Competing daily warm-up entry in Discussions

                                          10 points - class assignments/quizzes/tests/participation

Each day you will need to go to Assignments; Click on "Check in here for daily...." and it will give you the same instructions you see below.

1.  Look for an announcement every other day, letting you know class expectations for your day.

2.  Fill out the, Rowell's Daily Attendance, form each time you attend class.

2.  Log into Canvas, and complete warm-up under "Discussions," in the navigation bar, or move straight to "Modules" and the warm-up is linked there.  It might be T/F, short answer, or list.  This is your warm-up grade each day and will also help me with attendance.  Then move onto #3.

3.  Remote learning:  Go to, Modules, and click on appropriate assignment for that day.  Assignments should take no more than thirty minutes to complete.  Most will be due that same day.  Check your Canvas calendar to make sure they are completed and turned in on time.   (The first one on CPR, may be the only one that takes a bit longer.)

Face-to-face sessions:  We will stay on the same topic as remote learning, but focus on items that need more visual or hands-on practice.

Canvas: The majority of assignments will be submitted on Canvas.  Assignments can be submitted a variety of ways including, uploading files, typing into text boxes, and sharing Google documents/presentations.  Students not having used Canvas before should alert the teacher and they will be shown how to submit assignments on Canvas.  Individual assignments will indicate which method of submission on Canvas is expected.  If students need a refresher or have questions, they can access the Canvas Student GuideLinks to an external site. for specific instructions.  It is the student's responsibility to ensure assignments are submitted on time and to contact the instructor if there is a problem.  The Canvas Learning Platform logs every student log-in on Canvas which provides teachers with a list of when students log-in to Canvas using their user id.

Conduct

Outstanding = zero violations during the six week grading period; Satisfactory = 1-3 conduct violations; Needs Improvement = 4-5 conduct violations; Unsatisfactory  = 6 or more conduct violations
