Course Syllabus

Welcome to 8th grade ELA!  I am so excited for this school year.  As we begin, I want you to know that I am starting with the end in mind.  I want my students to be prepared for the challenge of high school when they leave my classroom in June.  For that reason, our class is:

Preparing for High School- advanced classes

-Faster pace

-More intense study of literature

-Deeper understanding of author's craft

This year we will be utilizing:

• Literature

• Book Clubs

• Reader’s Workshop

• Writer’s Workshop

In addition, we will be studying grammar and writing styles to prepare for high school course work.

I am excited for this year, and I can't wait to share my love of literature and writing with you!
