Expectations and Policies

It is expected that all students conduct themselves in a manner that is acceptable for the public school classroom. All Forest Hills High School policies for student conduct will be followed, as well as county and state policies. I expect all students to demonstrate the following:

  • Be Responsible-follow dress code, be on time, take care of school property, follow directions the 1st time, take notes, complete assignments, participate in class discussions or activities, etc.
  • Be Respectful-be a good listener, keep your body and other objects to yourself, be aware of your words and actions, know how to cope with disagreements and criticism, demonstrate concern, etc.
  • Be Prepared-come to school and class with necessary materials (laptop, paper, pencils, homework, etc.) Note: Students will not be allowed to return to their locker to retrieve work.

 Classroom Discipline Issues

Behavior that disrupts the classroom will not be tolerated. In the event that inappropriate behavior does occur, I will follow the school’s behavior policy.

Late work is not accepted.

Absences: Students are expected to be in class every day. If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to get caught up on the missing material. I cannot stop class and reteach material every time a student is absent. The UCPS absent policy gives students 2 days for every 1 day they are absent to make up missing assignments. This will include getting their notebook updated. Grades will not be dropped because of an absence.

Tardy Policy

I will adhere to the school tardy policy.

PowerSchool is an online gradebook that allows parents to view grades. I input grades often. Please be aware of your child’s grades continually.

Dress Code: Students are expected to be in dress code at all times.

Phone Use: There is to be no phone use during my class unless students are specifically given instructions to use them for a task or project.
