Overview:

Biology is not only a requirement for graduation, but students are also required to take the Biology End-Of-Course test at the end of the semester.

Topics to be covered:

• Experimental Design
• Biochemistry
• Cells & Cell Function
• Bioenergetics
• DNA & Protein Synthesis
• Sexual & Asexual Reproduction
• Genetics
• DNA Technology
• Evolution
• Classification & Adaptations
• Ecology

Supply List:

• A notebook to be used for Biology Only
• One 3-ring binder or pocket folder – for class papers and materials
• Pencil(s) and highlighter
• Chromebook

 Grading:

• Grading will be based on a points system
• The total points that you earn divided by the total points possible

Classroom Rules and Expectations:

• Be prepared to give your best effort each and every day in class
• Be in your seat when the bell rings
• Be respectful of everyone in the classroom
• Have all cell phones and electronic devices turned off and put away when the bell rings
• No food or drinks are permitted in class. The only exception is water in a container with a lid
• Do not handle lab equipment without permission

Late/Make-Up Work:

• There will be a one-time, 20% penalty for all work turned in after the due date
• Assignments will be posted on the board. See me if you were absent and missed an assignment
