Classroom Expectations:

4.    ALL PHONES will be put in the phone cubby before class starts. 

5.    Remain seated until the teacher dismisses.

☺   Start studying for tests long in advance.

 

Class Materials:

        3 Ring Binder – 2 inch

        6 Dividers

        Loose leaf & graph notebook paper

        Pencils

        TI – 84 graphing calculator

        Four function calculator

        Color pens

Tissues would be much appreciated.

 

Notebooks must be setup according to the units we are going to cover:

1.    Transformations

2.    Similarity and Congruence

3.    Quadratics

4.    Square Root and Inverse Variation Functions

5.    Solving right triangles

6.    Probability

 

Homework:

There will be homework almost every night. Homework is for you to master the new concepts. All assigned problems must attempted and supporting work must be evident to receive full credit. It is up to you to check your work carefully when we go over it, and make the necessary corrections. Late homework will only be accepted the following day for half credit.

If you are absent, it is up to you to show me the assignment the day you return. I will not be asking you for it.

 

Warm-up assignments will be given at the beginning of class. This assignment will occasionally be graded for accuracy. It will be based on material covered the day before. 

 

Extra Help:

 

Tutoring will be available in Smart Lunch.

If you need additional help:

F223 on Tuesdays 15:05 – 15:45

F223 on Thursday 15:05 – 15:45

(Come prepared with questions).

Grading Policy:

 

Tests:                                  60%

Quizzes:                              30%

Homework/ Classwork:       10%

 

Final exam 25% of final grade.

 

There are no extra credit opportunities or test corrections for this class. Please do not ask.

 

Attendance

·         It is your responsibility to get all work missed due to an absence.

·         Completed notes will be on canvas.

·         If you are absent the test day only, you will take the test during the day of your return.

·         If you are absent the day of a review session, you will take the test as scheduled.

Bathroom Policy: 

 

Students are allowed to use the restroom once, with teacher permission, during group and independent work.  

Only one student will be permitted to leave class at a time.

NO student is permitted to use the restroom in first or last 15 minutes of class or during notes.

Cheating and Plagiarism:

 

Cheating on a test or assignment will result in a grade of a zero for all involved.  Each student is responsible for individual assignments unless specifically stated by the teacher.
